Hobby Box
Design Platform, 2021
A Collaboration with Natalie Todaro and Rich Bilotti
As we become more reliant on technology, the more we should consider our digital wellbeing. Digital wellbeing describes the impact technology has on our mental and physical health. The Hobby Box app was designed to improve one’s digital wellbeing by using their phone as a tool to do their hobbies. The intention of this project was the create a user experience that is easy and fluid to use.
Key Screens
After interviewing different people about their relationships with their phones, we were to come up with different apps to help a person’s digital wellbeing. My teammate offered the idea of creating an app that is productive. This led to the creation of the Hobby Box app. It was to act like a subscription box that gave the user the materials they needed for their hobby. In addition, the app offered tutorials for the ease of the user.
Lo-Fi Wireframes
Certain that the Hobby Box app was the app we wanted to proceed with, we began to flesh it out even more in Adobe XD. We each worked on certain frames and then I collected them and unified it’s design.
Final Walkthrough
The wireframes were then cleaned up. Our group wanted the app to have a clean and minimalist aesthetic. However, we wanted to punctuate that with bright dashes of color to uplift the user. I then added functionality to all the wireframes.
