The Getaway

The Getaway was a scene from a fantasy podcast, Critical Role, that I wanted to recreate using india ink on watercolor paper. This was a fun challenge because it was my first time drawing such a narrative to this scale. To capture the distress and action, I used a comic style the characters so that their expressions and body language stood out. I then used a more painterly style for the midground and background to give the piece a more surreal quality.
